Job Purpose

The Global Marketing Manager role exists to drive the company’s ‘get keep & grow’ strategies.  That means ensuring that VSN is widely recognized and respected in its target markets and that this translates into a strong pipeline of quality new business leads for the global sales team (‘get’) and to ensure an ongoing programme of customer relationship management activities (‘keep & grow’). 

This will be delivered through planning and managing the execution, measurement and successful performance of all marketing activities; driving awareness, interest, engagement and ultimately sales and retention across all VSN products in all territories.  

Very much a hands-on role for someone who likes to ‘do the do’ more than ‘talk the talk’.

The Role

We are looking for someone to:

  • Lead the global marketing team (currently 3 FTE)
  • Establish all marketing goals, based on past performance and market forecasts
  • Plan and execute all marketing activity, including but not limited to content, website, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media, mobile and display advertising, events, PR, advertising, sales promotions etc.
  • Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Undertake copywriting for marketing communications (e.g. content, emails, sales literature etc)
  • Identify trends and insights, optimizing spend and performance accordingly
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop the VSNi website, optimising customer journeys and UX
  • Utilise strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
  • Define and maximise conversion points and optimise the conversion pipeline
  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners
  • Evaluate emerging marketing technologies, providing recommendations for adoption where appropriate
  • Propose and manage marketing budget, always looking to demonstrably maximise ROI

Skills and Competencies


We need someone who can quickly make an impact:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Proven working experience in marketing within a B2B environment
  • Significant demonstrable experience across all digital marketing disciplines (specifically but not limited to content generation, SEO, SEM, marketing database, email, social media and / or display advertising campaigns (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying and segmenting target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Experience in website conversion rate optimisation
  • Experience with A:B tests
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools e.g. Google Analytics
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and optimising Google AdWords campaigns
  • Hands-on experience with CRM databases e.g. salesforce / act!
  • Hands-on experience with e-mail marketing tools such as Mailchimp or Newsletter2Go
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in marketing
  • Highly proficient user of MS Office suite
  • Experience working across different time zones with dispersed team members
  • Excellent communication skills: face to face, video, email, telephone - you've got the lot
  • Great interpersonal skills to build collaborative, respectful relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Highly organised with strong planning, prioritisation and time management skills are essential
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Creative thinker who sees the opportunity before the problem, able to inspire others.
  • Critical thinker - asking questions, validating and generally being curious must be second nature to you
