Job Purpose

The SE Asia Sales Executive role exists specifically to help grow the customer base and overall customer revenues for our subsidiary business Biosci across Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands & Fiji.  This will be achieved through fast, efficient and effective response to sales tasks, where the focus is on delivering a great customer experience to convert enquiries into business. 

Happy following a process or working ‘freestyle’, you get things done in an accurate, timely fashion combining customer communications (via email, telephone and maybe even social media) with database and lead management activities.  Responding to new business enquiries will be a key part of the role, and an essential part of what will help VSN achieve its growth ambitions.

The Role

This is a varied role and will include the following:

  • Promptly follow-up new business opportunities via phone / email
  • Generate new business opportunities through online research (social media, Google alerts, Google search, research publications, event tracking etc.)
  • Exploit the CRM system (act!) to identify and manage sales opportunities from the existing database
  • Support the accuracy of the customer database – inputting data, running reports etc (CRM)
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentation and sales material for products and services
  • Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data
  • Collaborate closely with technical support & marketing teams to answer customer queries etc
  • Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams
  • From time-to-time there may be the opportunity / requirement to support the marketing team in the preparation of marketing communication materials, management of social media feeds etc

Skills and Competencies


To be successful in the role you'll require the following:

  • Educated to degree level
  • 3-5 years experience in a business-to-business sales position
  • Knowledge or an interest in data analytics, statistics and software
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience using a CRM database software and project management software
  • First class communicator via email, telephone and video calls
  • A strong grasp of both written and spoken English as a second language
  • Confidence is essential - you'll be a ‘gentle influencer’ who can quickly build and retain trust
  • Organised and thorough approach
  • Collaborative and flexible by nature
  • Fast learner with a passion for sales and delivering a great customer experience
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and a desire to grow personally
  • Experience working across different time zones with dispersed team members an advantage

  • Hands-on experience of act! CRM tool a distinct advantage
  • Hands-on experience of Atlassian or ASANA project management software
  • Experience working in an office environment - this is very much a remote sales role
  • A working knowledge of statistics and data analysis
