Sales Support Executive

Full Time |1 position |Sales

Job Purpose

Sales Support Executive position exists specifically to help grow the VSN Group customer base and overall customer revenue.  You will achieve this through fast, efficient and effective response to sales support tasks, where the focus is on delivering a great customer experience to convert enquiries into business. 

Happy following a process or working ‘freestyle’, you get things done in an accurate, timely fashion combining customer communications (via email, telephone and maybe even social media) with database and lead management duties.  Responding to new business enquiries will be a key part of the role, and an essential part of what will help VSN achieve its growth ambitions.

The Role

This is a varied role and will include the following:

  • Promptly follow-up new business opportunities via phone / email
  • Support the accuracy of the customer database – inputting data, running reports, etc (CRM)
  • Support new business opportunities through online research (social media, Google alerts, Google search, research publications, event tracking, etc.)
  • Exploit the CRM system (Act!) to identify and manage sales opportunities from the existing database
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate material on products and services
  • Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data
  • Collaborate closely with technical support and marketing teams to answer customer queries, etc
  • Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams
  • From time to time there may be the opportunity / requirement to support the marketing team in the preparation of marketing communication materials, management of social media feeds, etc

Skills and Competencies

Must-haves

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they have the following:

  • Educated to further education level, ideally with Maths and English at A-level
  • 2-3 years' experience in an office environment, ideally in a business-to-business sales or sales support role
  • Able to communicate with customers and colleagues quickly and accurately via email, telephone and video calls in relation to our products and promotions
  • Great interpersonal skills - confident, you must be able to quickly build trusting, respectful relationships with customers and colleagues alike
  • A personable manner with a cheery approach – the kind of person customers would want to chat with
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Hands-on experience using a CRM database tool (experience of ACT! a distinct advantage)
  • Hands-on experience with project management and / or workflow software
  • Organised and thorough approach
  • Collaborative and flexible by nature
  • Fast learner with a passion for sales and delivering a great customer experience
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and a desire to grow personally
  • Experience working across different time zones with dispersed team members an advantage
